Community Mourns the Tragic Loss of Milton Lacrosse Player Jack Wilson

MILTON, Ontario — The Milton community and the wider lacrosse family are mourning the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of Jack Wilson, who tragically passed away following an accident on Monday, 27 July. He was 22.

A beloved son, brother, nephew, teammate and friend, Jack’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Remembered for his kind heart, unwavering dedication and infectious smile, he made a lasting impact both on and off the lacrosse floor.

Tributes have poured in from across the lacrosse community as friends, teammates and supporters remember a young man whose passion for the sport was matched only by his compassion for others.

The Milton Mavericks Minor Lacrosse organisation shared a heartfelt statement honouring Jack’s life and legacy.

“The Milton Mavericks Lacrosse family is heartbroken by the passing of Jack Wilson at just 22 years of age.

Jack was more than an exceptional athlete—he was a valued teammate, a respected competitor, and a friend whose character left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His passion for the game, unwavering commitment, and infectious smile will never be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences go out to Jack’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone whose lives he touched. The Mavericks community mourns alongside you and will forever remember Jack as part of our lacrosse family.

As a tribute to Jack, the Milton Mavericks will proudly wear his initials on our helmets throughout the upcoming Ontario Provincial Championships. It is a small gesture to honour a young man who meant so much to our club and whose memory will continue to inspire us every time we step onto the floor.”

The announcement has prompted an outpouring of condolences from fellow athletes, coaches and community members, many of whom have shared memories of Jack’s sportsmanship, leadership and positive influence.

While his life was tragically cut short, Jack’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, the friendships he built and the example he set for those around him.
